ILED:
Iowa Leadership in
Engineering Design.

Welcome to ILED!

ILED: Iowa Leadership in Engineering Design
We EMPOWER teachers to
ENGAGE their students
through the problem solving lens of
Engineering Design.

ILED is Part of Scale-up!

Needed Support,
Just where you need it...

Iowa STEM Council has placed ILED on the menu!
3 day workshops in the 2022 - 2023 school year.  We start off with 2 days of engineering design full immersion in August 2022 .  We follow up with a one-day assess, evaluate, and improve workshop at regional sites across Iowa - Spring 2023.

5 - 500 Participants; K-12

Our team loves it when a district involves the entire articulated K-12 curriculum.  We have experience and expertise in all levels - we will help you see the vision of science and engineering principles reinforced through every level.
Iowa STEM Scale up includes a grade-banded kit, >$800, to get you started on your Engineering Design journey.  (An Epic Journey Indeed!)

Researchers continue to find that the most difficult part of NGSS is the Engineering Design component.  It's hard to teach what you have never been taught.  We are excited to work with you so that this often self-perceived weakness becomes a strength!

Empowering Teachers,
Engaging Students

Teachers know their curriculum, their school, and their community.  They are the perfect creative minds to develop an authentic and relevant experience for their students.  This is how Engineering Design can reach those diverse learners that are underrepresented in STEM fields.
ILED: Iowa Leadership in Engineering Design
We are a team of award-winning Iowa teachers and researchers who want to "give back" to their educational communities.
We want to work with you!

What Teachers Have Said About Our Workshops

The teachers at our latest workshop were asked to respond to the following statements
 with 1 - 5;
Where 1 = I do not agree with this statement and
5 = I completely agree with this statement.

We are proud of our work with our teachers!
"I have a better understanding of how to use engineering design in my classroom" (4.56/5.00).
"I have increased my confidence in crafting engineering design activities" (4.56/5.00).
"I was able to make good progress in developing an engineering design activity" (4.67/5.00).
"As a result of this workshop, I intend to increase my use of engineering design activities" (4.67/5.00).
"I am satisfied with the outcome(s) of the workshop" (4.78/5.00).
"I would recommend this workshop to friends and colleagues" (4.78/5.00).
